DescriptionJohn Severin and Bill Elder Two-Fisted Tales #28 Story Page 3 Original Art (EC, 1952). The Tank Corps tries to stay one move ahead without Germans getting the jump on them in the story "Checkers!" Power-house talent turned out this tale... written by Harvey Kurtzman, pencils by John Severin, inks by Will Elder, colors by Marie Severin, and letters by Ben Oda. One look at the page and you know it's an EC War story. The sound effects on the page have to be noted, as they were so much a part of the atmosphere of the story. You can almost feel those huge heavy machines thundering along. Produced twice-up scale in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". The page is lightly toned and in Excellent condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
