DescriptionJohn Romita Sr. and John Verpoorten Fantastic Four #104 Sub-Mariner vs. the Human Torch Page 8 Original Art (Marvel, 1970). Here's a Marvel match-up that never grows cold -- the Human Torch facing off against the Sub-Mariner. What could be more compelling than fire vs. water? When Jack Kirby left Marvel's flagship title, John Romita Sr. was tapped to take over "the King's" Fantastic Four art assignment. Despite Romita's concerns over fan reaction, sales actually went up, just as they did after Romita took over Spider-Man when Steve Ditko left the title. As Stan Lee once said, "John Romita has the golden touch." All the same, Romita only drew the title for a few issues, so his FF art is always in high-demand. This blockbuster from "Our World Enslaved" has an image area of 10" x 15", and aside from a few small scattered production process stains and a piece of transparent tape over lettering corrections in the final panel, the art is in Very Good condition.
