Description

John M. Burns Boys' World Magazine Vol-1 #46 "Wrath of the Gods" Two-Page Spread Original Art (Longacre Press, 1963). The long-running serial "Wrath of the Gods" was created and originally illustrated by Ron Embleton. John Burns stepped in to take over the series after him. Burns is well-remembered for his work on the comic strip Modesty Blaise after this. This huge double-page spread ran as the center pages in the magazine. They are created on a single sheet of illustration board. Ink and watercolor with an image area of 29" x 18". All text is hand-lettered paste-up. The board has gotten damp at some point, and has a crease in the top left (into the image area), and also has soft, damaged corners. Overall the image area is in Very Good condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
