John Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #139 Page 27 Original Art (Marvel, 1980). One of the first pages to feature Wolverine in his brown costume, and the third appearance of Snowbird and Shaman of Alpha Flight. The genius of Austin's inking is even more striking on the original art than on the printed page, and Byrne as always was able to take a simple conversation and make it dramatic and interesting. Contrast Vindicator's look in the second-to-last panel with the next moment where he gets a reminder of his ol' pal's animalistic side. Not to forget some hints at Logan's murky past and a reference to the events of Hulk #181. Signed by both artists in the bottom margin. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Three clipped corners. Excellent condition.
