John Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #138 Story Page 11 Original Art (Marvel, 1980). From the heartbreaking tale "Elegy", which was set during the funeral for Jean Grey. This issue was one of the most influential turning-point issues of the 1980s for Marvel Comics. Here, Scott Summers (aka Cyclops) remembers some of the team's long and complex history. This wonderful flashback page features images of Professor X, Havok, the Beast (in both primary and secondary-mutation form), and the "All-New, All-Different" X-Men... Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, Wolverine, Banshee, and Sunfire! As a hidden bonus, the Thing of the Fantastic Four even makes a cameo appearance if you look hard enough. This bit of Marvel Comics' history was created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Panels 3 and 4 are a paste-up section of original art with paste-up text (that has discolored), with a bit of glue residue around the edges. There are stripped-in text corrections. The page is signed by John Byrne on the reverse side. Overall in Very Good condition.
