    Description

John Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #137 Page 36 Gladiator, Xavier, Lilandra Original Art (Marvel, 1980). We all know the tragic ending to this story titled "Fate of the Phoenix". With just 11 pages of story left at this point, things are starting to crank up, and Gladiator rising from the rubble is not a good thing for our X-Men! A touching scene with Prof. Xavier and Princess Lilandra at the bottom of the page helps underscore the pathos of the issue. There are few, if any, Bronze Age comics that had such an affect on things as this issue. This page is ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is signed by both Byrne and Austin on the backside. Tanned with one corner trimmed and slight handling and edge wear, the page is otherwise in Excellent condition.
