John Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #135 Story Page 15 Dark Phoenix Original Art (Marvel, 1980). The Dark Phoenix Saga is beyond a doubt the most important story arc in the entire history of the X-Men comic series. It was also tapped as the main plot for the Dark Phoenix movie released in June. The seeds for this story arc were set with the birth of the Phoenix way back in X-Men #101, and the tale would come to its bitter conclusion in issue #137. But this issue, #135, was the major turning point, as events from the previous issue unleashed the Dark Phoenix. And then... just three pages before this one, her fate was sealed as she drank the power from an alien Sun, thereby dooming an entire planet full of people! This page shows her casually turning on allies (granted, they shot first, but still). For an art collector and a fan of the X-Men (and especially Dark Phoenix), owning this page would be a major coup! Check out her image in Panel 2! The page also features Queen Lilandra in the last panel. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is toned, with minor foxing. There is production tape along the left margin. In Good condition.
