Description

John Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #120 Page 23 Original Art (Marvel, 1979). From the first appearance of Alpha Flight comes this meeting of Vindicator and Storm, featuring a memorable shot of the latter in the final panel! The X-Men previously met Vindicator (then Weapon Alpha) in X-Men #109, and still haven't figured out he's not the villain they make him out to be -- though Byrne gets the message across beautifully with his sympathetic characterization of the character. As for Banshee, he is just beginning to realize that his powers are gone for good (and see another lot in this auction for the moment he lost them). By the way, we've wondered for 33 years what "spaleen" (sic) means, turns out this was supposed to be spalpeen, an Irish term for a rascal. No charge for that tidbit, boyo! Image area of 10" x 15". Aside from some overall paper aging and clipped upper corners, the art is in Very Good condition.
