John Byrne and Terry Austin Uncanny X-Men #142 Page 20 "Days of Future Past" Original Art (Marvel, 1981). The climax of this classic story, and the moment that saved the world! Grown-up Kate Pryde from the future, occupying the body of teenage Kitty Pryde, throws off Destiny's aim and Senator Kelly's assassination is prevented, as is a chain of events that would have led to a totalitarian state run by the Sentinels. The same situation, though with characters and setting changed around, was used in the 2014 movie based on this story.
Signed by Byrne at lower left and inscribed "Best to Beth." The page number at the bottom is taped on, and we see that the bottom of the second-to-last panel originally had lettering that was covered over. Also, the box with lettering at the top of that panel is attached with tape. The top two lettering elements in panel three are obviously not by Tom Orzechowski, indicating that perhaps some last-minute rewriting went on. This piece has an image area of 10" x 14.75". Corners are clipped. Please note that the page is attached to a larger black board (13.5" x 19"). While it's only attached at the corners, we weren't able to easily remove it. Very Good condition.
