Description

John Buscema and Joe Sinnott Fantastic Four #132 Page 24 Original Art (Marvel, 1973). Remember the red costume that Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, wore for a while in the 1970s? Here's the first appearance of that garb, thanks to a device that the Inhumans have on hand (Mr. Fantastic is zapped with the same machine, but without a design change). Also, in panel one, the group finalizes Medusa's acceptance as a temporary member of the Fantastic Four, a status which lasted through #159. Black Bolt, Gorgon, Triton, and Karnak appear as well. And writer Roy Thomas even works in some Golden Age talk and a "Fire when ready, Gridley" reference. Sinnott's tenure as artist of this title (working over Buscema breakdowns) was outstanding. This piece has an image area of 10" x 15". Some stains on the back, two of which are visible on the front. The page number at bottom is taped on. Excellent condition.
