DescriptionJohn Buscema and Joe Sinnott Fantastic Four #119 Story Page 15 Original Art (Marvel, 1972). The Black Panther (referred to as the Black Leopard in this issue), with the assistance of The Thing, Mr. Fantastic, and the Human Torch, scout the streets at night for the stolen Vibatron device. Although Marvel's Black Panther proceeded the Black Panther Party by several months in 1966, by 1972 Marvel tried out this new name for the character in this guest appearance. As seen on this page, the story itself directly took on the subject of racism in an apartheid-like situation in a fictional Marvel Universe setting. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is slightly toned, with production tape residue at the bottom, a small stain in the left margin, two hand-lettered text paste-ups in Panel 5, a whiteout art correction in Panel 3, and blunted corners. Overall in Very Good condition.
