Joe Sinnott and Don Perlin The Defenders #83 Story Page 14 Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1980). Sinnott, one of the most accomplished all-'round science-fantasy artists of Marvel's formative years (1950s-60s), had specialized in inking for so long by 1980 that he seldom was granted the time to produce full pencil-and-ink jobs. Here is a delightful exception, with Sinnott fleshing out Perlin's rough-layout art to near-perfection. Dr. Strange and Namor, the Sub-Mariner, lead a perilous expedition into a frozen wasteland. Signed at lower margin. The lower tier, rendered largely in silhouette, is enchanting. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with blade-scratching highlights. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition.
