    Description

Joe Simon Boy Explorers #1 Story Page 10 Original Art (Harvey Comics, 1946). Simon's partnership with Jack Kirby yielded a variety of slum-kid adventure titles, including The Newsboy Legion and Boy Commandos -- all inspired by their upbringing, and by the stories of Damon Runyon, of Guys and Dolls. One of their most Runyonesque books is Boy Explorers, represented here by a sequence featuring an outbreak of mob war. Simon handles the art solo. The tough-guy dialogue is credited to him and Kirby. The page is accompanied by a copy of the funnybook. Ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 13" x 18", matted to 18" x 23". Toning, edge staining, and handling wear. Corners are rounded. In Very Good condition.
