Jim Starlin Marvel Graphic Novel #1 "The Death of Captain Marvel" Story Page 6 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). Captain Mar-Vell, Mentor, and Starfox appear on this page with a stone-encrusted Thanos. This was an event unlike any that Marvel (or any other publisher) had ever tried before. A significant character is slated to die... it's in the title of the story, after all. But not in battle. Mar-Vell succumbed to Cancer. And all of the best minds on Marvel's Earth could not save him. To their credit, Marvel kept him dead, which made this issue even more important to the history of the Marvel Universe. This page was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.75" x 17.5". The ink has discolored, as has every other page from this story that we have ever offered. In Very Good condition.
