Jim Starlin Iron Man #55 Story Page 8 Thanos Original Art (Marvel, 1973). The origins of Thanos, Eros (aka Starfox), Mentor, and the planet Titan! Basically this is the start of the whole "Jim Starlin universe" that the wonderfully creative writer/artist debuted in this key issue. Thanos is going to be playing a huge part in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. Starlin told our consignor that while this isn't the earliest page to feature Thanos in the book, it's the first time he ever drew the character for publication as he did the pages out of order. This page features great page layout in the flashback sequence. Starlin signed the page on the right side of the third tier of panels. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is lightly tanned with some handling wear in the edges and whiteout art correction in panel one. There is production tape in the margins. Overall, in Very Good condition.
