Jim Starlin Iron Man #55 Story Page 17 Original Art (Marvel, 1973). From an issue that's now one of the big Bronze Age keys thanks to the first appearances of Thanos and Drax the Destroyer, both of whom appear on this page. Our consignor, who bought the page from the artist, relates that Mr. Starlin told him the image of Thanos here was his favorite from that first issue. Of course, Thanos is set to be the big baddie in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War while Drax is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Page 17 of the story appeared as page 27 in the issue due to ads (there were a lot of ads back then). Signed by Starlin in the last panel. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There are some minor production oil stains on the left side and back (however not showing through), and production tape residue in the top and bottom margins. There is light toning and handling wear, and some whiteout art corrections. In Very Good condition.
