Jack Kirby and Paul Reinman X-Men #5 Story Page 21 Original Art (Marvel, 1964). X-Men art by Kirby is very hard to come by. One of the main reasons is that he only worked on issues #1-11... another is that most collectors can't bear to part with it! On this character-loaded page we get Magneto, his children Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and his toady, the Toad. Also present are all five X-Men: Cyclops, the Angel, the bounding Beast, Iceman, and Marvel Girl! The setting for this page was Magneto's Asteroid M (its first appearance). Asteroid M played a much larger role in later years when Cyclops turned it into "Utopia", a haven for Mutants. This Silver Age masterpiece is crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with a twice-up image area of 12.75" x 18.75". The top margin indicates that this page once belonged to one of Marvel's main letterers of the time, and in fact the letterer of this issue, Sam Rosen! The page is gently tanned, with some minor handling wear, and is lightly affixed to a matting board. There are some pinholes and a staple in the top margin. Otherwise in Excellent condition, this baby is ready to frame, and is one sweet page!
