Jack Kirby and Paul Reinman Avengers #2 Page 22 Original Art (Marvel, 1963). Here's Marvel history on a single page, featuring the entire early Avengers team of Thor, Iron Man (wearing his original armor suit for the last time), the Wasp, and Giant Man, aka Ant-Man, plus one more original member who angrily departs the team in the final panels -- the Hulk. Wow! Is that Marvel enough for you? We've certainly seen our share of magnificent superhero comic book art pages here at Heritage, but this exceptional Silver Age treasure from the House of Ideas is like none other! And with the green giant set to appear in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie, this is a perfect encapsulation of Hulk's "issues" with other superheroes from the Marvel universe. It's the wrap-up page from "The Avengers Battle the Space Phantom," with drama one would never see in a team-up book from Marvel's "Direct Competitors," at least not back in 1963! Jack Kirby's powerful penciling is, as they used to say, "pulse pounding" here. Can you argue with that? Thought not! The art is in ink and graphite on Bristol board, with an image are measuring 12.5" x 18.5".
