Jack Kirby and Frank Giacoia - Original Cover Art for Captain America #204 (Marvel, 1976). "A walking corpse threatens all that lives! The Unburied One!" These pencil notes at the bottom of this incredible cover image by Jack Kirby attest to the thought process going on in the King's head, while this piece of work was being brought to life. A terrific 9.75" x 15" drawing, set on a sheet of 11.5" x 17.5" bristol board, this fantastic Kirby creation features Captain America and the Falcon struggling in the rubble beneath the unliving Argon's feet. Frank Giacoia's taut inks cover the pencils with a sharp line that makes this iconic spectacle sparkle. The work is well-kept, with very little aging apparent, with the exception of some slight staining at the top left, behind a missing type balloon to the middle left, and a small stain on the type paste-up at the bottom. Includes the original logo type and indicia paste-ups. Signed by Jack Kirby at the bottom left.
