Description

Jack Kirby and Frank Giacoia - Original Art for Tales of Suspense #78, page 6 (Marvel, 1966). Captain America and Nick Fury take on a chemical android, in this page from Tales of Suspense #78. Jack Kirby's untiring talent for action and pure superheroics is aptly unleashed in these vigorous images of Captain America in battle. The fight sequence alone is enough to make this page a champ, and you get a great close-up of Cap to boot! The overall page size is 13.5" x 21.5" with a 12.5" x 18.5" image area. The work is clean and bright, with some slight pencil smudging around the edges, some minimal white-out usage, and some blue pencil marks drawn by the letterer. As an added attraction, there are some pencil notes by Kirby at the bottom that he used to indicate the action he was to draw in the panels.
