    Description

Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers Strange Tales #93 "When the Thing Runs Amok!" Page 3 Original Art (Marvel, 1962). Scientist Jason Burke's robotic creature is designed as a boon to mankind, but the creature's monstrous appearance frightens everyone who sees it, in this page from the dawn of the Marvel Age of comics. Jack Kirby appears to have used his friend and colleague Steve Ditko as the model for inventor Burke, making this page quite an unusual find. The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 12.5" x 18.5", and the page is in Excellent condition, save for a very small stain in panel four, and some light handling wear along the outer page borders.
