    Description

Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers - Fantastic Four #17, page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1963). Many fans felt the team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby hit their stride in issue five of the Fantastic Four, with their introduction of Dr. Doom, Marvel's archetypal villain and the personification of the dark side of science. Here, in the splash page from Fantastic Four #17, Reed Richards, Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm say farewell to the amazing Ant-Man, who was a key factor in the FF's triumph over Doctor Doom in the previous issue. This page from the story, "Defeated by Doctor Doom!" was the calm before a cataclysmic storm brought on by the FFs most powerful enemy. The art has an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Some liner notations in marker and pencil, outside of the image area, otherwise the work is in Excellent condition.
