Jack Kirby and Chic Stone Avengers #6 Captain America vs. Baron Zemo Page 19 Original Art (Marvel, 1964). Face Front, Marvelites -- for offered here is a historic page. The brutal Baron Zemo was responsible for the (presumed) death of Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier) -- and also for Captain America being trapped in suspended animation for 20-plus years. Here's a mind-blowing Marvel Age showdown -- dredging up a terrible score that dates back to the Golden Age. This issue marked these two mortal enemies' first clash, after the Star-Spangled Sentinel's triumphant Silver Age revival. Baron Zemo and his Masters of Evil debuted in this legendary issue of The Avengers, where we learn that Herr Baron was a Nazi agent who caught a face-full of his own "Adhesive X" by way of the First Avenger's spinning shield. Captain America himself was making only his third Avengers appearance after his revival in issue #4. This bombastic Jack Kirby/Chic Stone classic captures the unbridled fury with Kirby's signature in-your-face storytelling style. A Silver Age sensation, no doubt -- but also a prime example of explosive all-out "King" Kirby mano a mano action. This Marvel masterwork has an image area of 12.5" x 18.5", and aside from trimmed margins, it's in Excellent condition. Marvel Main Man and the author of this thriller, the one-and-only Stan "The Man" Lee, has signed this ink on Bristol blockbuster in its upper margin.More information about Jack Kirby.
