Jack Davis Aces High #2 "Footnote" Title Page 1 Original Art (EC, 1955). A WWI "dogfight" story illustrated with so much realism, you feel like a seasoned flyer after reading it! Davis was adept at many genres -- Westerns, Civil War, and of course, nutty humor -- but he did a magnificent job here. This opening page sums it all up -- check out all that minute detail in the plane gear, the pilot's goggles and the light that is reflected off them... fantastic! The art is in ink over graphite on EC Bristol board, with an image area of 13" x 18", including the hand-drawn story title art (which appears to be covering an earlier title). In Very Good condition, with handling wear and minor soiling.

More information about Jack Davis, also known as Davis, Jack, Jack Davis, Jack B. Davis, Jack Burton Davis.
