Description

Howard Chaykin Marvel Super Action Magazine #1 Story Page 13 Dominic Fortune Original Art (Marvel, 1976). Chaykin's 1930's era swashbuckling hero-for-hire may have never looked better than he does in this story from Marvel's one-shot "Action" magazine. The black and white medium fit the character well and allowed Chaykin to really shine with his mastery of light and shadow, as well as his dynamic layouts. And this oversized page is rich with all of that, from the stunning Panel 3 to the great sequence in the last four panels. Created in ink over graphite with sepia tone and gray markers, with white paint highlights. The image area measures a huge 15.5" x 20.25". Personalized and signed in the lower margin of the Bristol board, it is in Excellent condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
