Description

Henry C. Kiefer Wambi, Jungle Boy #2 Story Page 3 Original Art (Fiction House, 1942). Jungle hero Wambi must invade the "Lair of the Killer Rajah" -- vowing to free a friendly tiger that a cruel ruler has captured. Kiefer's strong sense of radial page design is compounded by a subtle simulation of 3-D (upper-right and mid-right), in which portions of a figure reach into the adjoining panels. Ink over graphite on Eisner & Iger Studio Bristol board, with painted white highlights and one tipped-in art correction. (Studio co-founder Will Eisner had departed by this time, but his imprint remained.) Image area, 13" x 18". Moderately toned, with some handling wear. Very Good condition.
