Description

Harvey Eisenberg Hey There, It's Yogi Bear #1 Pages 12 and 13 Original Art Group (Gold Key, 1964). Cindy, on her way by train to the St. Louis Zoo (she think's she's headed for San Diego, where Yogi was supposedly sent), suddenly finds herself free -- and lost. Along comes a shady circus owner with a very Muttley-like dog who chases poor Cindy up a telephone pole! That's the action in this two exceptional pages from this comic book adaptation of Yogi's feature-length animated film, with superb artwork by Harvey Eisenberg (1912 - 1965). Harvey was Hanna-Barbera's go-to man for comic books and newspaper strip art, and even though Yogi does not appear here, these are great examples of the wonderful work Harvey did. Sadly, these are among the last from this unsung hero of Funny Animal comics, as he passed away the following year. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 16" x 23.25" per page. Minor edge wear and toning; otherwise Excellent condition.
