Description

Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson - Original Art for Showcase #36 The Atom (DC, 1962). From the third appearance of the Silver Age Atom comes this stunning page of twice-up original art by the unbeatable team of Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson, two pinnacles of the era. Here, the Atom makes a quick trip to Budapest via the phone lines, and hooks up with a deep-cover operative who assists him in his mission. The final panel of the Atom swinging, Batman-style, towards a keyhole, is worth the price of admission alone. Original art from this period is getting tougher to find, with most of it tucked firmly into private collections, and is always coveted when it does come to market. Bid early and enthusiastically, as a prize like this doesn't come along every day. 14" x 21.5", with very little white-out, and some light aging at the edges.
