Description

Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson Green Lantern #10 Complete 10-Page Story "The Origin of Green Lantern's Oath!" Original Art (DC, 1962). "In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night..." The oath played such a large part of the GL mythos that pages of the recharge ritual are highly sought-after and coveted by fans. Not only is there a great instance of this on Page 2, this story covers the three cases that actually inspired the oath in the first place. Don't forget that the oath was also the inspiration for both the "Blackest Night" and "Brightest Day" events in the DC Universe in 2009-2011. The pages were created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 19" (including the paste-up stat headers). The last page is a half-page to accommodate a house ad. Page 1 has a stat paste-up logo that is coming loose and has a small rip/fold in it. The top margin of that page has a 3.5" rip, and the right side has a 2" rip, both repaired with paper tape. There are a couple of creases on that page as well. Page 1 is in Good condition, and the rest are lightly toned and in Very Good condition.
