Description

George Metzger Gothic Blimp Works #7 "Mal-Ig" Page 11 Original Art (EVO, 1969).
Things get really crazy in this tenth page from George Metzger's wordless fantasy epic, "Mal-Ig." Metzger was, like many other artists working in the Underground Comix trade, a fan of 1950s EC Comics. In particular, George was drawn to the science-fiction titles like Weird Science. He produced several pages of an epic (and wordless) story, "Mal-Ig," for a sci-fi fanzine before submitting it to New York Underground newspaper East Village Other, for their all-comics Gothic Blimp Works tabloid. Art for this page is in ink over blue pencil with Zipatone shading film and whiteout on a piece of 17" x 23" illustration board; image size is approximately 15" x 21". Condition is Very Good, with handling/edge wear and mild toning, and old tape in the outer borders.
