George Metzger Beyond Time and Again Story Page 39 Original Art (Kyle & Wheary, 1976). Originally serialized, in the manner of a comic strip, in various Underground newspapers, Metzger's time-tripping epic had been plotted all along as a predictive graphic novel -- it was touted as America's first such publication upon its arrival as a self-contained book at the San Diego Comics Convention in 1976. This page finds a time-tripping wizard hurled back to a place of safety and rest. Ink and Zipatone over blue pencil and graphite on illustration board. Image area, 19" x 13.75".
