Garry Leach Warrior Magazine #2 Story Page 1 Marvelman/Miracleman Original Art (Quality Communications, 1982). Kimota! Alan Moore's reinvention of Marvelman (the British version of the Golden Age Captain Marvel) was an early foray into the "real-world" superheroics that would give us Watchmen in just a few short years. Comic book fans who stumbled across this ground-breaking anthology black and white magazine were in for a real treat! The series also contained Alan Moore's stunning V For Vendetta. When the story was republished by Eclipse Comics in 1985 it was retitled Miracleman to avoid lawsuits with Marvel Comics. Garry Leach's art was a perfect match for the Marvelman stories, with its clean lines and gorgeous figure work. The page was created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18.5". All text is paste-up. The "Marvelman" logo is penciled in. It seems the story was originally intended to be titled "The Legend", as part of that lettered title is still visible in Panel 5. There is whiteout covering the rest of it. Panel 1 and Panel 6 are both stripped-in original art panels taped in from the reverse side. There is a bit of whiteout art correction on Liz's sweater sleeves in Panel 5 and her lips in Panel 6. In Very Good condition.
