Frank Frazetta Thun'da #1 "When the Earth Shook" Page 5 Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1952). This page of savage jungle action is so cool that we need frost-proof mittens to handle it! One of the most famous comic books of the 1950s (indeed, of all time) has to be the first issue of Thun'da, if for no other reason than the fact that this was Frazetta's only full-length comic book, having penciled and inked all four stories starring the Tarzan-like jungle lord. This page has more than its share of great action-packed panels, as Thun'da escapes capture by the villainous Shiv Islip (gotta love that name!), with the help of Sabre, a magnificent saber-toothed tiger who is introduced in this story. The lush inking, dynamic compositions, and fluid action is everything a collector could hope for, predicting the master's wildly popular renderings of paperback-cover barbarians like Conan in the coming decades. The ink and graphite art is on Bristol board, with an image area of 12.5" x 18". The art is in Very Good condition. Don't miss this rare chance to bid on a prime Frazetta Golden Age comic page!
