Don Lawrence Lion/Lion and Champion Panel Pages Karl the Viking Original Art Group of 2 (IPC, c. 1960s). Don Lawrence created Karl the Viking and illustrated his early adventures which started in 1960 and ran in Lion until 1964. In 1966, IPC re-titled the stories "Swords of the Sea Wolves", and renamed Karl "Rolf" when they reprinted the series in the new Lion and Champion. We are not sure when it was originally published, but these two pages were reprinted in the September 1967 Lion and Champion #23. The original art was produced in ink on Bristol board. Many panels have been cut and rearranged for the new publishing format. They were then affixed with glue and cellophane tape to larger illustration boards. The current image area iswith an image area of 15.25" x 19.5". The board pieces have toned, with discolored tape in many places, and glue residue. Overall in Good condition.
