Description

Dick Giordano and Sal Trapani Nukla #1 Page Original Art Group (Dell, 1965). This group lot features pages 1-8 of "The Origin of Nukla." As noted on Don Markstein's Toonepedia, "Nukla #1 (December, 1965) is credited to writer Joe Gill (long-time mainstay of Charlton Comics) and artist Sal Trapani (Metamorpho, Fab Four). But it's an open secret that Trapani often hired ghosts to pencil his work, while he only inked it. He was a heavy-handed inker, so it doesn't always show, but in this case it's known that his penciler was Dick Giordano (later an editor at DC Comics), who also happened to be his brother-in-law." Each page of this Silver Age thriller has an image area of 12" x 18", and aside from missing its title logo stats, the art averages Very Good condition.
