Dick Ayers - Original Art for Tales to Astonish #53, pages 4 and 5 (Marvel, 1964). This two-page lot is from the "Trapped by the Porcupine!" story featuring Giant-Man and the Wasp. These pages are filled with those elements that made Silver Age Marvel comics so fun to read. Only Stan Lee and his talented staff of artists could have convinced us that " ...Almost every big city has a Giant-Man and Wasp Fan Club!" These two pages represent that idea with the Porcupine infiltrating the club so that he can get close enough to Giant-Man to administer a sleeping gas. Dick Ayers is one of the flagship Marvel artists who helped define those early titles. These two pages are excellent examples of the Marvel Age of Comics. Both of these pieces measure approximately 13.5" x 20.75", and are in nice, clean condition with minor use of white-out.
