Dick Ayers and Paul Reinman Tales to Astonish #60 "Giant-Man" Cold War Story Page 4 Original Art (Marvel, 1964). A fine example of classic Marvel style. Quite a stretch, from "The Man in the Ant Hill" (1962) to the continuing Ant-Man series, to the present page's depiction of Giant-Man -- all the same guy, obsessed scientist Henry Pym. This sequence, in fact, offers Pym as both Giant-Man and Ant-Man, seeking a way past the barricades of the Berlin Wall. A humanitarian mission is at stake. Ayers and Reinman capture a distinct resemblance to Jack Kirby's style -- both men had been definitive inkers of Marvel architect Kirby in Marvel's earlier stages of manifestation. Marvel's method of scripting while the art was in progress is evident in story notes at upper-left margin. Ink and extensive white-paint retouching over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12.5" x 18.5". Moderate toning and handling wear. Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
