Description
Dick Ayers and John Severin Sgt. Fury Annual #6 Introductory Pages Original Art Group of 6 (Marvel Comics, 1970). Marvel honcho Stan Lee (caricatured) breaks the Fourth Wall, rallying the Marvel Bullpen gang to figure out how to fill the Sgt. Fury Annual with something more than reprints. Nick Fury himself joins the brainstorming session. Personalities depicted include lead artists Ayers and Severin and editorial talents Gary Friedrich and Roy Thomas. A vivid example of Lee's commitment to give the readers a sense of communion with the company. The formal splash/title page is more a collage, primarily containing miniature reproductions of opening pages from past issues. Two internal pages are full-frame splashes. Ink and collage effects over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Moderate toning, handling wear, and adhesive seams. Average Very Good condition.More information about Dick Ayers.
