Description
David Lloyd - Original Art for V for Vendetta #7, page 18 (DC, 1989). Along with Marvelman (American title: Miracleman), V for Vendetta was the series that really put Alan Moore on the map; both of them originally ran in the British black and white magazine Warrior before being imported to American shores and re-packaged into individual issues. This haunting page is from the seventh issue of the DC run of V for Vendetta, and features V beginning to detail his plan to strike against the powers-that-be. Lloyd's sparse, harshly-lit artwork brings home the desolation of this moribund future, and features a keen sense of graphic design. This large page measures 16.5" x 24", with an image area of 11.5" x 17". The condition is good, with some light creasing in the margins that does not affect the artwork, and a small 1/2" tear at the top margin. Some edge wear and yellow tape stains are also evident, but these do not detract from the power of the artwork. A real treasure for fans of this groundbreaking series, pages from V do not turn up all that often, so don't hesitate to bid on this cool piece!Auction Info
