Dave Taylor Batman: Death by Design Story Page 28 Original Art (DC Comics, 2013). An experimental pocket-epic in the chronicles of Batman, Death by Design starts with Taylor's deeply textured pencilling -- captured here in its original organic form -- which was finished out for the published version with digital panel-framing and the addition of delicate shadings of color and highlighting. (The sound-effect lettering in the third panel became solid-white as published, for example.) A splendidly arrayed composition, as rich in chiaroscuro as some classic Hollywood film noir.
