Description

Dave McKean Arkham Asylum Page 104 Batman Painted Original Art (DC, 1989). The full name for this graphic novel is actually Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Dave McKean had already made a name for himself in the comic industry at this point, most notably with his incredible covers for the Vertigo title Sandman, which had just started up in January of 1989. This page, featuring Batman, is produced in oil and mixed media (including actual lace affixed to the page in panel 2) on Bristol board. Some panels have been produced separately and affixed on top of the approximately 14" x 22" image area. It is signed by McKean in the lower left panel. Glass front framed to approximately 19" x 26", it is in Excellent condition.
