    Description

Dave Gibbons Watchmen #3 page 24 Original Art (DC, 1986). "And we're all in big trouble!" A sleeping Dan (aka Nite Owl) gets a rude awakening with some disturbing news about fellow "costume" Dr. Manhattan delivered by Rorschach, in this tense page from "The Judge of All Earth," the third installment in writer Alan Moore's classic superhero tale, Watchmen. Rorschach's cautionary synopsis in this page references many of the most important themes from the entire story, making this a perfect stand-alone example. The impact of this landmark series seems to grow with each passing year, and with 2009's successful movie adaptation, the demand for all things Watchmen is reaching a fever pitch. Original art from this series simply doesn't change hands once each page lands in a collection, so the demand far outweighs the supply -- witness our last major Heritage Comic and Comic Art Auction's sale of the first page from the first issue, which went for a whopping $33,460. This fine page features an image area of approximately 10" x 15.5"; it's attractively housed in a custom mat and Plexiglas frame, which measures 17.75" x 27.5". The art is in Excellent condition.
