Description

Dave Gibbons Watchmen #10 Page 28 Original Art (DC, 1987). The final page of the issue was a memorable one indeed. Nite Owl and Rorschach arrive in the Antarctic to confront Ozymandias at his wintry retreat. But their ultra-intelligent former teammate is expecting them. Remember how unbearable it was to wait a whole month for the following issue after reading this? The following issue's confrontation was very tense, and a sequence that nobody who read the comic will ever forget. Also, the last panel has a quote from Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower": "Outside in the distance a wild cat did growl, two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl." Not only was Watchmen made into a movie, Time magazine named it one of the 100 best novels published in the English language between 1923 and 2005. It's assigned reading in many a school, and the fact that many people have read this who have never read any other comic book should ensure the continued popularity of the story. This piece has an image area of 10" x 15.75". Minor staining outside the image area and very minor foxing on the back of the piece. The "ticking clock" stat in the last panel is a replacement. Very Good condition.
