Dave Gibbons Watchmen #1 Page 26 Original Art and Color Guide Group of 2 (DC, 1986). The very last page of the very first issue of this iconic maxi-series that helped define the comic book era of the 1980s. The story ends in a reflection of how it started, high on a balcony with a close up of the Comedian's smiley-face button. After the grim, and sometimes rather ghastly events of the issue, it ends on a lighter note with a dark comedic joke at the Comedian's expense. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 16". The board is toned and in Very Good condition. Comes with the hand-colored production printer's color guide with handwritten color call-out notations.
