Dave Cockrum and Joe Rubinstein Uncanny X-Men #147 Nightcrawler Page 3 Original Art (Marvel, 1981). Nightcrawler gets caught up in the "Rogue Storm!" and finds himself plunged into icy-cold water, in this kinetic page by the late, great Dave Cockrum. A former fanzine contributor during the sixties, Cockrum rose up through the ranks to become one of the top comic book illustrators in the 1970s. His work on X-Men titles included the classic Giant-Size X-Men #1, the book that redefined the team and propelled them to the top of the comic book charts as well as introducing characters like Nightcrawler. This page is in ink over graphite with Zipatone shading film on Bristol board, with an image area of 10" x 15". Several small strips of white tape used to mask ink lines within the panel borders are stained or missing; overall condition is Very Good. The page was inscribed "With Best Wishes, Dave Cockrum" in the top border.
