Dave Cockrum and Dan Green - X-Men #107, page 22 Original Art (Marvel, 1977). The last issue of Dave Cockrum's (initial) tenure as X-Men penciler had two Cockrum trademarks: an outer-space storyline and a Legion of Super-Heroes reference! And if you've ever doubted that Marvel's Imperial Guard paid homage DC's Legion, this page has the "smoking gun": if you look closely in the lower border, you will see, written in pencil, "Wolv. decked by Star Boy [i.e. Quasar]... Lightning Lad, Star Boy, Ultra (Boy)." Sticking to their given Marvel names, it's Starbolt, Quasar, Tempest, Smasher, Mentor, and Astra, taking on Banshee, Colossus, Storm, and a "new-look" Wolverine who borrowed the costume of Imperial Guardsman Fang. Dan Green's silky-smooth inks add a superb finish to Delightful Dave Cockrum's pencils. The image area is 10" x 15" and the art is in Excellent condition.
