Description
Dave Cockrum and Bob McLeod X-Men #94 Page 2 Original Art (Marvel, 1975). Sunfire announces his departure from the X-Men in just the second appearance of the new team. Of course, #94, the start of the new X-Men series, stands as one of the key comics of the Bronze Age, so pages from it are very desirable. Here, Nightcrawler still has his "early" look and Thunderbird makes one of his few appearances. Along with Cockrum's usual penciled story notes in the margin, it says at the top "Have to revise the ending..." Reportedly, the story that started in #94 was originally slated for a second Giant-Size issue, which might explain the note. Signed and inscribed on the back, "To Sam -- Dave Cockrum & Bob McLeod." This piece has an image area of 10" x 15". The entire lower left panel has been stripped in, and there are traces of white-out, otherwise the piece is in Excellent condition.More information about Dave Cockrum. See also: Cockrum, Dave Artist.
