    Description

Daniel Clowes Eightball #1 "Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron" Page Original Art (Fantagraphics, 1989). "Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron" is one of the strangest, most surreal comic serials ever produced. It's also one of the most compelling. Originally published within issues #1-10 of Daniel Clowes' anthology comic Eightball, the story has been collected into a graphic novel that has seen many printings, and has been translated into several languages. In this page from the first chapter, two patrol cops have picked up main character Clay, and with him in the back seat, they stop to investigate an unworldly three-eyed female standing by the side of the road. The entire story reads like some sort of fever dream, and this startling page is no exception. The art is in ink over graphite with Zipatone shading film on Bristol board, with an image area of 10.5" x 16.5". It's in Excellent condition.
