DescriptionDan Barry (attributed) All-Select Comics #2 Sub-Mariner Page 6 Original Art (Timely, 1943). As any seasoned collector will tell you, finding original pages of art from WWII-era Timely superhero comic books is an incredibly tough task. Here is a page from a Sub-Mariner story titled "The Horror of Yellow Men," involving Japanese attempts to create a radio-controlled sea monster to be used against Allied forces. While our hero (noted in the first panel as "Submariner") does not appear, we get several views of the enormous monster inside a stronghold designed to look like a mountainous island, plus the villain of the story, Nichi. The art, credited to Dan Barry in the Grand Comics Database, is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Very Good condition, with handling wear and minor stains in the outer borders.
