    Description

Curt Swan and George Klein Superman #165 "Beauty and the Super-Beast!" Page 6 Original Art (DC, 1963). This story is the second time that Superman gets transformed into a lion-headed Super-Beast! It inspired an action figure from DC Direct in 2008 that was based on the artwork of Curt Swan. Swan's art style defined the Man of Steel all the way into the 1980s. A fun Silver Age page that features supporting cast Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Lana Lang. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". There is a handwritten note from the letterer in the bottom margin explaining a change from the script in the last panel. There are a couple of light creases about 2/3rds of the way down both side margins. Tanned with some handling issues and corner wear, this page is in Very Good condition.
